Book Editing
No matter how many times you’ve drafted and reworked a manuscript, being so close to the material can present a problem. No matter how talented a writer you are, it’s still you looking at your book, and it’s sometimes hard to see it from the audience’s point of view. There is, however, an easy solution. Utilize an editor before you publish. You need an editor who will do more than proofread and make random comments, however. When I edit a book, I immerse myself in the author’s voice, content and purpose. This enables me to identify potential audience needs and/or content gaps, suggest changes and even ghost write alternatives to ensure the content is not only complete, but has a high level of readability. |
I can also assist you with the publication end of the process — title and design ideas, chapter headings, author biography, back cover, e-book synopsis, book submission, etc. Don’t rely on a publishing-house editor who may not be fully invested in your work. In addition to proofreading, my goal is to ensure your finished book achieves your vision. I am a personal editor who will listen, care and “partner” with you. If you call me, every word will be right. |
